Hi Community,
We know that managing access gets more important as your organisation grows. Earlier this year we rolled out editor permissions for Goals and Projects, giving your teams control over who can make changes. Today, we're building on that with groups and teams in permissions to help you scale access controls better.
What's new
You can now add a group or team directly to the access list on any goal or project, and the access will automatically reflect any membership changes to the group or teams. If you’ve shared access in Confluence, this will feel like familiar - we've deliberately kept the experience as close as possible.
- As users join a group or team, they pick up the access their group or team already has.
- When you remove a group or team, access is revoked for everyone who doesn't have access in their own right.
- The most permissive access applies, so if someone has access as an individual and through a group or team, they'll get whichever is more permissive. So a person with view access who joins a group with edit access will be able to edit.
Access changes stay visible
Granting or removing access for a group or team is recorded in activity history so you can always see who was given access and when. Users are notified in-app when a group or team they're in is given access to a goal or project.
Groups and teams in permissions will roll out progressively, and you can expect to see them live in your apps over the next couple of weeks.
Your existing goals and projects will keep their current access, and everyone who has access today will keep it.
