Welcome Wednesday: Favorite web browser?

Dave LIAO

Bonjour Atlassian Community !

Atlassian's Arc browser will be sunset this December, so their engineering teams can focus on its sister browser, Dia. Arc users are being directed to Dia.

Are you an Arc user who will need to switch? Where are you headed? I also ask (to everyone): What are your favorite web browser/s, and why?

Yep, this has been asked at least once on the forums, but that was in 2024, and the browser landscape has naturally changed since then.

📣 Drop a comment with your favorites - or maybe share any browsers we should avoid? 😉 Looking forward to your replies!

💡 This has been another Welcome Wednesday, an opportunity for you to participate on the forums on topics that might not be Atlassian-related. (See past Welcome Wednesdays)

Am I boring if I say Google Chrome is my go-to browser on my Windows devices, while Safari usually wins on my Apple devices? Although, Chrome sometimes makes its way onto my MacBook too. 😆
Old habits die hard, I guess!

Since Dia GA for Windows was introduced during (or maybe slightly before) Team '26 Europe, I cannot stop using it 😂

I've used Brave until then (still am only for YouTube 😅) but Dia is awesome! Especially for those morning briefs, which contain things from all of my connected tools and apps 🥳

Lucija Maric

Nothing too adventurous on my side when it comes to browsers 😄 I mostly use Chrome on my PC, both for personal use and work. On my phone, though, I've grown quite accustomed to Samsung Internet, so that's my go-to there. 😊

My favorited one is Chrome on my PC and corporate PC but in parallel I use also MS Edge as browser integrated with my corporate copilot AI. :-D

Liam Do - DevSamurai

I’ve tried switching away from Chrome multiple times, but I always end up coming back to it after just a few hours 😅 Old habits and browser sync are hard to break. Even though it can be a memory hog and slow down my laptop, nothing quite matches its smooth integration 😁

Alexander Lichter - Werkstack

Firefox user since day one and still pretty happy with it (especially that ad blockers still work without any issues).

Matt Doar (Adaptavist)

Sigh, Chrome I guess 🙄

Not boring at all, especially if you have a bunch of Chrome extensions you rely on!

Rebekka Heilmann (viadee)

I don't like any browser but separate between Edge for Work and Chrome (or Brave) for private purposes. Saves me a headache with juggling profiles and also avoids sharing my Amazon search from lunch break in my next meeting 😂

I was telling someone about Dia during Team Europe, and I can't remember who 🥲

Good to know it's GA for Windows - I've been using it on macOS for a bit, love the daily briefings!

I LOVE Edge to see my tabs vertically!

Though I think Chrome supports vertical tabs now (finally)…

Dave LIAO

What integrations do you rely on for Chrome?

I love how smooth Google Docs works on Chrome, especially when I have a ton of offline docs. Perfect for long flights where you need to reference a Sheet or two.

Liking the rebrand back in September?

I appreciate the mascot! 🦊

Not Internet Explorer? 🤣

For the curious: For me, I hop between a few browsers, depending on my needs.

DuckDuckGo has been part of my rotation, I especially like its mobile experience.

Dave LIAO

HA! Yes, this 🙌

Made the move to Dia for work stuff a few months ago and LOVE it! The Daily Briefs tend to be pretty awesome.
