If you want to completely disable Total Drive, the first thing you should do is check where it is running on your computer. I was also confused about whether turning it off was enough or if I needed to uninstall it.
On a Windows computer, open Settings and go to Apps > Installed Apps. Find Total Drive in the list and click Uninstall if you no longer want to use it. Follow the instructions on the screen and restart your computer if needed.
You can also check Task Manager to see if Total Drive is running in the background. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc, look for the app under Processes, and close it if it is still running. If it starts automatically, check your startup apps and disable it there.
One thing to keep in mind is that uninstalling Total Drive does not necessarily cancel a paid subscription. If you are paying for it, sign in to the account you used to purchase it and check the subscription or billing settings. Turn off automatic renewal or cancel the subscription if that option is available.
If you installed Total Drive on your phone, the steps may be different depending on whether you use Android or an iPhone.
I would also recommend checking your confirmation email after cancelling, just to make sure the request went through. That way, you know the app is removed and any unwanted renewal has been handled separately.
