Hi,
We're using Jira Product Discovery Free and are experiencing a permissions issue that we can't seem to resolve.
Our setup:
- We have a JPD space called "Customer Success Board".
- We use a custom multi-select field called "Customer" to associate ideas with our customers.
- This is a space-level field, not a global field.
- Two users have Creator access to Jira Product Discovery.
- Both users are listed as Creators in the space's Access settings.
The problem:
I can manage the "Customer" field and add new options (customer names), but the other Creator cannot.
She can access the space and work with ideas, but she cannot add new options to the Customer field.
We checked the following:
- She has the User (creator) role in Atlassian Administration.
- She is listed as Creator in the JPD space.
- The field is a space-level field, not a global field.
- We are on the Free plan, which prevents us from changing space roles or configuring custom permissions.
My understanding is that on JPD Free, all Creators should automatically have space administration permissions.
If that's correct, why can one Creator manage field options while another cannot?
What we're trying to achieve:
We want our Customer Success Manager to independently add new customers to the multi-select field as part of our standard customer onboarding process, without requiring me to do it every time.
Could you please clarify:
- Should all Creators on the Free plan be able to manage space-level field options?
- If yes, what could explain the different permissions between our two users?
- Is there a way to resolve this without upgrading to a paid plan?
Thank you!
