Why is there no search box when pulling a particular branch in Sourcetree?

Hi everyone,

When I try to pull changes from a particular branch in Sourcetree, I don't see a search box to quickly find the branch I want.

If the repository has many branches, manually scrolling through the list becomes inconvenient.

Is there a way to search for a specific branch directly in the Pull dialog? If this feature is not available, are there any workarounds or plans to introduce it?

I always use the terminal. I understand the GUI can be a better option. However the couple times I used Sourcetree it was through terminal.

For Windows, there has actually been a similar discussion about this before: How to search a branch in remote branch list?

As stated there, here's an existing feature request, SRCTREEWIN-7095, for adding search functionality for remote branches. I'd suggest leaving a vote and potentially a comment describing your requirement.  ➕

As a workaround, you can try using the terminal to pull from a specific branch:

git pull origin branch-name

Just make sure you're on the correct local branch first.

Out of curiosity, which Sourcetree version are you using? 🤔
