Travel Tuesday has arrived on Thursday. Just a little delay—we’re still boarding. 😂
This time, we’re stopping in my home country: Kraków.
Looking through these photos, I seem to have photographed Wawel twice in the same frame: the miniature model in front, with the real cathedral behind it. One for the overview, one for the details. 😅
Then there’s Rynek Główny, the Main Market Square, with St. Mary’s Basilica lit up at night. I’ve included a mix of daytime and evening shots, because choosing just one would mean leaving half the photos behind.
And of course, the giant bronze head in the square: Eros Bendato by Igor Mitoraj.
It’s a serious piece of art, although in a Thursday edition of Travel Tuesday, it also looks like someone who’s completely lost track of the week. 🤠
Between Wawel, the square, and the smaller details along the streets, there’s plenty to point a camera at. Not every travel post needs a faraway destination. Sometimes it’s nice to give a place closer to home its turn.
Have you been to Kraków? What would you recommend seeing beyond the usual landmarks?
And if you haven’t visited Poland yet, which city is on your list? 🇵🇱
