For the timeline view I want to look at e.g. 18-36 month period. But the tool is forcing the unit of measure to always be months. So the view becomes very long horizontally as each month takes up a fixed amount of horizontal space.
Changing the view between months and quarters does not change this scale. It does not change the unit of measure e.g. quarters should show 27'Q1, 27'Q2, 27'Q3, 27'Q4, 28'Q1, 28'Q2 etc.
Basically I want to:
- Be able to collapse and show the timeline in Quarters or Half-year periods completely hiding months so I can get a more compact view.
- Be able to decide on Month/Quarter/Half-year/year the unit to show. E.g. show the next 3 months, followed by Q2, Q3, Q4, H1, H2, Y1, Y2, Y3
that way I can convey details where appropriate near term and a more compact long term timeline view of the product roadmap that also matches the uncertainty of things that are further out in the future. It does not make sense to show a specific month 2 years out in the future.
Anyone know how to achieve this?
