Can't close or leave Trello boards that have no admin (Free plan)

Hi,

I’d like to close and delete two Trello boards, but I can’t, because neither of them has a board admin:

* Projekt DOM 
* Projekt MAM PLAN

On both boards I’m the only member, with the Member role, and I’m a guest in the Workspace the board belongs to. The role dropdown next to my name in the Share dialog is disabled, “Close board” is missing from the board menu, and all board settings are greyed out. So I can’t leave these boards, close them, or make myself an admin.

I’m on the Free plan, so the support contact form only points me to the Community.

Could someone from the Trello team please close these boards, or make me an admin so I can close and delete them myself? My Trello username is @ekubal3 .

Hi @jakub, @Arkadiusz Wroblewski is right that this is a permissions deadlock, and Trello Support can't hand out board admin rights. So the fix has to come from an admin of the Workspace the boards live in.

What happens when they remove you as a guest depends on the board's visibility. If it's Workspace-visible, the admin doing the removal becomes board admin and can close and delete it. If it's Private, Trello closes the board for you. Either way you get what you're after.

The other route is for that admin to start a Premium trial, since Premium lets Workspace admins close any board in it. Do you know who admins that Workspace?

This looks like  permissions deadlock.

One workaround on Free is asking a Workspace admin to remove you via Members → Guests → Remove. This removes you from the boards without deleting them.

If you need the boards permanently deleted, the Workspace admin could upgrade to Standard or Premium, gaining administrative control over all Workspace boards.

Unfortunately, Trello Support cannot simply assign board administrators for security reasons.
