checklist disappearing after archive

We do many repeat jobs and copy the previous card for the new job. We have noticed recently that Trello is no longer keeping the checklist on close/archived jobs. This is a recent change. How do we get this feature back? When the jobs are closed/archived the checklist box is checked but as soon as it's closed the checklist is no longer available

Hi @jenny

If the checklist disappears immediately upon closing/archiving the card, a board automation rule may be was created or edited recently that cleans up or deletes checklists. You could try the below troubleshooting steps:

1. Check for automation rule
   1. In the board header, click Automation (the lightning bolt icon)⚡️.
   2. Select Rules from the sidebar.
   3. Review the active rules for any trigger that looks like:
      • “When a card is archived…”
      • “When a card is moved to [Done/Closed]…”
      • “…remove all checklists from the card” or “…delete checklist”.
   4. If you find a rule doing this, click the pencil icon ✏️ to edit and remove that action, or click the trash icon/ disable toggle to stop it from running.
2. Check the "Hide/Show checked items" toggle
   1. Look at the checklist header on the card back.
   2. If all items are completed, Trello often defaults to hiding them. Click Show checked items next to the checklist title to make the items visible again.
3. Verify the "Keep Checklists" setting when copying
   1. Ensure the checkbox for Checklists is explicitly ticked.
   2. Note: If someone previously copied a card and unchecked "Checklists", Trello sometimes remembers your last selection and leaves it unchecked for subsequent copies.

FYI - You could create a Card Template for repeated jobs to avoid this issue in future may be.
