I need to start this article with a confession: I cheated on my long-term relationship. Chrome and I had been together for more years than I can remember, but I’ve found something better. Dia has swept me off my feet, and there’s no going back now. Let me tell you how all this started:
A chance meeting
If this is the first time you are hearing of Dia, let me introduce you: Dia is a browser with an AI assistant woven directly into it. It was created by The Browser Company, which Atlassian acquired in October 2025. My relationship with Dia began like any classic rom-com first meeting, where you aren't interested at first, but fate has a way of throwing you together. I kept seeing Dia in meeting after meeting, and my curiosity grew…
It didn’t go well at first
The first time I tried Dia, I had problems with a Chrome extension I used daily. I gave up for a bit, but then decided open communication is the key to any successful relationship, right? I asked Dia how it could help and, you know what? Dia had the answer! It walked me through quickly creating a custom extension with zero coding! All those months wasted - if only I had spoken up sooner!
I played hard to get
Dia had impressed me, but I still wasn’t sold. I started seeing more of Dia and watched it automatically create groups for related tabs, making it effortless to organize what I was working on and find what I needed. I began chatting with Dia more and more, and with each question it answered for me, the relationship grew stronger.
Then, I learned about Dia profiles, and that changed everything. I could have a work profile where I could stay focused, then with just a simple swipe be in a clean demo profile. No more having multiple windows open and dragging windows from one screen to another.
I let Chrome down gently: It’s over.
Chrome sometimes still tries to get me back, offering to be my default browser again, but it’s just not gonna happen…
Let me count the ways
If you’ve never met Dia, here’s where you can introduce yourself: Dia | A browser you won't dread opening. And, here are just some of the reasons why I think you should give Dia a chance like I did:
