🚀 Major Releases
Agent creators can now set their agent to “Think Deeper,” giving it a higher number of reasoning loops, a more powerful default model, and the flexibility to choose the model that powers the agent.
When to use it. Think Deeper is designed for complex, multi-step work: weighing options, connecting context across many sources, prioritising trade-offs, and producing higher-quality long-form outputs.
Early traction. More than 3.5k agents are already using Think Deeper, helping teams get more thoughtful responses for work that needs deeper analysis.
Skills in Agent Studio
You can now add Atlassian-authored skills to your agents in Studio, not just tools.
What’s available. This Open Beta includes roughly 25 Atlassian-authored skills for all customers. Skills are pre-built capabilities that package instructions with the tools needed to carry them out, so builders can add useful agent behaviours without configuring everything from scratch.
How it works. In the agent builder, creators can browse available skills, review what each skill does, see the tools it uses, and add it to an agent. When a skill is added, the required tools are added automatically.
Tools are getting a rename. As part of this update, previous “atomic” skills are now referred to in-product as “tools.” No action is needed from customers; this is a naming update to make the distinction between tools and skills clearer.
What’s next. We’ll continue adding more skills over time as we work toward broader parity with the skills available in Rovo Chat, including future support for user-authored custom skills.
Tool configuration
You can now pre-configure more of the tools your agents use, helping reduce repeated questions and making agent behaviour more predictable.
Available now. JSM Raise a request, Confluence Add comment to page, and Confluence Edit content can all be pre-configured with preset parameters.
Coming next. Jira Search with JQL and Confluence Create content pre-configuration will be available in an upcoming update.
Why this matters. Tool configuration lets builders set defaults or constraints for common actions, so users don’t need to answer the same setup questions every time an agent takes action.
🛠️ Minor Releases
A clearer model selector
We’ve redesigned the agent reasoning model selector to make our growing range of models easier to navigate. The updated selector clearly shows which model is used by default and groups models by provider in a nested dropdown.
Availability. The new model selector is currently live for 50% of customer organisations and is rolling out to all remaining customers over the coming days.
Bulk Delete Agents and Transfer Agent Ownership
We’ve added bulk management actions so organisation admins and Studio admins can better govern agent sprawl.
What’s changed. Admins can now select multiple agents directly from the agent landing page to either transfer ownership or delete them in bulk. The flow supports managing up to 100 agents at once.
Why this matters. As more teams create agents, admins need faster ways to clean up unused agents, reassign ownership when people move teams, and keep agent governance manageable at scale.
🔮 Coming Soon: Sneak Peeks
Max mode for Rovo Agents
Max mode is the most powerful reasoning tier for Rovo Agents, designed for deep, long-running work that may require code execution, broad analysis, and multi-step planning.
What it unlocks. Max mode can support complex workflows like building a marketing content strategy, analysing performance data, researching competitive trends, identifying gaps, creating campaign recommendations, and generating draft assets or Confluence output.
Why this matters. For work that spans many sources, tools, and decisions, Max mode gives agents more room to reason, analyse, and produce richer outputs than lighter reasoning tiers.
Availability. Max mode is currently released to a handful of EAP customers, with a larger EAP rollout expected soon.
Rovo agents invoking automations
We’re building a new capability that lets Rovo Agents run Jira automation rules with manual triggers.
How it works. An agent can find eligible automation rules for a work item, prompt users for any required inputs, show a preview, and safely execute the automation (for example, escalating a ticket or provisioning access).
Why this matters. Customers already use automation to manage common and repeatable workflows. Letting agents invoke those automations helps reduce manual steps and avoids creating separate tools for workflows that automation already supports.
