Comment Relative Timestamp Can Be Misleading

Hello,

The following comment was made 7 days ago in September but the summary says 1 month ago:

This is misleading. Granted, the comment was made in the previous month September but only a week ago. "1 month ago" conveys at least 28 days previously.

Is this adjustable somehow please?

If I could contact support I would but the support system doesn't recognise my subdomain for some reason.

Hi @Kier Archer , you're not the only one seeing this. Another thread this week reports the same thing ("Relative time of comments is inaccurate"), so it looks like a product-wide change rather than something on your site. It seems to round by calendar month: a September comment shows as "1 month ago" once it's October, even if it was only a week ago.

You can't switch to absolute dates from your profile or site settings. To see the exact date and time, hover over the relative timestamp on the comment.

About support not recognising your subdomain: the contact form wants the full site URL, for example yourcompany.atlassian.net, and you need to be signed in with an account on that site. Also, Free plans only get Community support, so the technical-issue form may not accept the site even when the URL is right. If you're on a paid plan and it still fails, sign in as a site/org admin and try again, or have your admin raise it. You can also send it through ? > Give feedback in Jira so it reaches the team that owns the comment UI.
