Hi community,
In July we introduced drafting focus area status updates with Rovo in beta, so you could generate a structured update from your focus area instead of manually visiting every sub-focus area, goal, and project to piece it together.
Since then, we’ve continued to improve the experience. Here’s what’s new:
- Richer drafts: Drafts now include a suggested health status alongside the detail.
- Rovo update templates: Choose the structure Rovo follows when drafting an update.
- Connected updates: See updates from linked work together, so you can understand the full picture in one view.
Richer drafts
Rovo still uses the latest updates from your sub-focus areas, linked goals, and contributing projects, but the draft now includes a suggested health status: On track, At risk, or Off track, based on those inputs. Rovo explains its reasoning, and you decide whether to accept the suggestion.
Rovo update templates
You can now choose a template that matches the level of detail and structure your leaders need.
To choose a template, select the dropdown next to Draft with Rovo.
Focus areas has three templates:
- High-level summary: Summarize progress, highlights, decisions, launches, and risks. Use this to give leaders a clear overview of the most important details.
- Sub-focus area brief: Summarize highlights, updates, and risks across all sub-focus areas. Use this to give leaders a scannable brief of focus area status.
- Delivery update: Report on what moved and slipped, risks, and decisions needed to continue delivering. Use this to give leaders a clear overview of delivery status.
Manual update templates
You can also choose from a list of manual templates that match common update formats if you prefer to write your updates manually.
Connected updates for focus areas
Previously, to see how a Focus area was tracking you had to open each sub-focus area, goal, or work item separately. The Connected updates panel combines updates from all linked work into one view. It highlights sub-focus areas, goals, and contributing work so you can see supporting context and dig deeper as needed.
Connected updates appear when you write or read updates.
When writing an update, use the connected updates panel to see the context needed to write it.
When reading, the connected panel lets leaders drill down to details without leaving the view.
Access and availability
We’ll roll out these changes to all customers progressively starting in October.
