There's an article at the top with a 6-step process for logging into bitbucket from SourceTree! SIX STEPS! And if you follow the SIX STEPS, it still DOES NOT WORK.
How can it possibly be this difficult to allow people to USE YOUR SOFTWARE.

Could you maybe share which article we're talking about? Six steps sound a bit excessive 😅
Sourcetree is on-prem software, but the question is are you trying to log in to Bitbucket cloud or Bitbucket server?
There's this (a bit outdated article), but it might be helpful when it comes to authentication: https://confluence.atlassian.com/get-started-with-sourcetree/connect-your-bitbucket-or-github-account-847359096.html OAuth is generally the simplest (for cloud), but it sometimes doesn't work, so you'll need to use other methods. 🤔

Which OS and Sourcetree version are you using? What exact error appears, and does it happen when adding the account or when cloning, pulling or pushing? Or you relating that just Login process are too complicated ?
I understand the frustration when you’ve followed the instructions and still can’t connect.
current guide requires Sourcetree 3.4.24+ on Windows or 4.2.14+ on Mac, API Token authentication, and your Atlassian account email. The token also needs user/workspace read permissions alongside the repository permissions.
