Can a guest of a board move the board into their own workspace?

First of all, welcome to community! ✨

Unfortunately No. A Guest on a Trello board cannot move the board to another Workspace (including their own). But you could try either of the the below workarounds:

Option 1: Have a current board admin move the board

If you want the existing board (with its original link, history, and activity) transferred to your Workspace:

1. Invite the Board Admin to your Workspace: In your destination Workspace, go to —> Members and invite the current Board Admin (or have a Workspace Admin invite them).
2. The Board Admin opens the board and clicks Show menu (•••) —> More —> Settings —> Change Workspace. They select your destination Workspace from the dropdown menu and confirm.
3. Once moved, they can make you a Board Admin, and you can remove them from your Workspace if they no longer need access.

Option 2: Promote the guest to board admin

If the board is staying within the original creator's domain but you need admin control:

1. An existing Board Admin clicks the Share / Members button on the board.
2. They click your name/avatar and change your role from Member/Guest to Admin.
3. Note: If you are also a member of the target Workspace and Workspace restrictions permit external transfers, you can then move the board yourself via Menu (•••) —> Settings —> Change Workspace.

Option 3: Copy the board into your workspace

If you cannot contact the original Board Admin or they cannot join your Workspace, you can make a duplicate copy of the board directly into your own Workspace:

1. Open the board.
2. Open the right-hand menu: click Show menu (•••) > More > Copy board.
3. Under Title, give your new board a name.
4. Under Workspace, select your own Workspace.
5. Check Keep cards (and checklist items/attachments if desired).
6. Click Create.
