Cannot close or delete board

Lorna

I have tried every approach, technique, and workaround I can find, and there's no Close Board or Delete Board option anywhere.

This is a board I created myself in my own Workspace. It's not even shared with anyone else and is set to Private. It was previously set to Workspace, but neither one let me close or delete the board.

It's as if those options have fallen off the face of the earth. Help

Need a little more context to help -

Are you speaking of a Jira Kanban/Scrum Board?
Or the Space itself?
Or is this a Dashboard?
Also is this Cloud or Datacenter?

I'd start linking documents but its a loooong list. 🤣

They do share a commonality aside from the Space (same process but its a little different) - you will usually find a "…" Button next to the name that will let you access configurations - keep in mind however that you need to be an admin or an owner to do these things.

I'm the sole admin, owner, etc., of this Trello Board. The whole Workspace is my personal Trello Boards. No Jira, no cloud, no datacenter, just me in my individual Trello account on my desktop PC. I double-checked and the Close Board/Delete Board options are missing for all Boards in my Workspace.

This should be how to go about that: https://support.atlassian.com/trello/docs/deleting-a-board/

If these don't work - you may need to contact Atlassian Support for more information.

Thanks. That's the usual procedure, but as I said, there is no Close Board or Delete Board anywhere, on any screen. I will contact Atlassian Support.

Lorna

They don't actually let you contact them there. Just forward you to the page you provided above and to the Community, which I've already looked through. Also Bugs. I am starting to wonder if I should delete my account and start fresh, but I would lose all my Boards and data. Still looking for a solution.

No Close Board or Delete Board option appears anywhere in my Trello account, on any screen.

If its a paid account - try routing it through account login/email - seems weird they would do that to be honest. <frown>

Hi @Lorna ,

Trello ties that option to admin permissions, rather than whether the board is Private or Workspace-visible.

Can you check these specifics:

Verify your account’s board role is Admin. On a Free Workspace, being the Workspace admin alone doesn’t grant permission to delete every board. https://support.atlassian.com/trello/docs/deleting-a-board
If you’re a board admin and the option is still missing, test in a private/incognito browser window.

Are you using Trello in a browser, the desktop app, or the mobile app?
