I can't get to my admin account

Question

I have two people on my board - both with my name and initials, but ending in a different number.

I can't move my board, because I can't log into my admin account.

Can anyone help?

When you hover your mouse over the profile avatar, what username do you see? Is it possible that you created another account using a different email address?

First of all, welcome to community! ✨

As @Tansu Akdeniz has mentioned, this might be due to duplicate accounts which might have got created may be one with work email & another with personal email.

I would suggest you to try the below troubleshooting steps:

Step 1: Identify the Username and Email of the Admin Account

* Open the board while logged in to your current account.
* Look at the member avatars in the top header (or click Menu > Members).
* Click on both of your avatars to see their profile cards:* Note the @Username  on the account with the Admin badge (the small chevron/star icon on the avatar).

* Go to trello.com/forgot in a private/incognito window.
* Enter any email addresses you might have used (work email, personal email, alias) to request a password reset. Check your inboxes to see which email receives the reset link for that specific username.

Step 2: Log In to the Admin Account

* Open a Private / Incognito browser window (to prevent auto-logging into your current session).
* Go to trello.com/login or id.atlassian.com.
* If you know the email:* Enter the email address and select Continue.
* If you don't know the password, click Can't log in? / Reset password and follow the email prompt.

* If you used SSO (Google, Microsoft, Apple), try clicking Continue with Google/Microsoft using your other connected accounts.

Step 3: Grant Admin Rights to Your Primary Account & Move the Board

Once you are successfully logged into the Admin account:

* Open the board.
* In the top board member list, click on your other (primary) profile avatar.
* Select Change permissions... and set it to Admin.
* (Now both accounts are Admins, so you won't get locked out again).
* To Move the Board:* Click ••• Show menu (top right) > Settings.
* Click Change Workspace and select the destination Workspace.
* (Note: You must also be a member of the target Workspace to move the board into it).

Step 4: Clean Up Duplicate Accounts

To prevent this issue in the future:

* While logged into the Admin account, remove the redundant account from boards or Workspaces if no longer needed.
* If one account is completely obsolete, you can log into it and close it via Profile Settings > Delete/Close Account (ensure all boards are transferred to your active account first).
