Issues with Google OAuth Normal Account Migration Email Change

We're having an issue with a legacy Trello account that was made using Google OAuth. We've disconnected Trello from the google account, followed the "forgot my password" workaround, and successfully changed the password, but now we are attempting to update the email address on that specific account to another user (same url), and we are getting an error - "Something went wrong while attempting to change your email. Please try again".

Hi all, thank you for your recommendation. The email is not already associated with another account.

We've also tried changing the Atlassian account email directly and are encountering the same error message. The account is not managed by the org. It is an unmanaged account.

The error appears when submitting the new email address.

Because it's a legacy Trello set up, there is no "workspace" URL to fill out the Atlassian support form.

You’ve already completed the documented prerequisite for accounts created through Google: setting an Atlassian password before changing the email address.

To add to Mia’s suggestions, try signing in with the current email and that password, then open Atlassian account email settings directly.

If that page says the account is managed by your organisation, your organisation admin will need to handle the email change. For an unmanaged account, you should be able to submit the new address and complete verification through the email sent to that address.

Does the error appear when submitting the new address, or after clicking the verification link?

If it also fails directly in Atlassian account settings, and the destination address isn’t already associated with another account, contact Atlassian’s account support team. Include the exact error and the stage where it occurs so they can investigate the account-specific cause.
