Queries For Dashboards
As a project manager, owner, or team lead, it’s often your job to ensure work is measurable in Jira. But without important data, like assignees, estimates, and due dates, reports are often blank or useless. Instead, I create dashboards to alert me to undesired data conditions. E.g., Work has started but the assignee is missing. (You could also use filter subscriptions or automation flows to report these problems.)
If all is well, the dashboard gadgets should be empty and show no items. (Pictured) If items are present, someone needs to follow up and get those fields filled!

No overdue items to follow up on
Here are the queries I use most often to catch missing data. You may need to customize these to fit how your organization works.
Unassigned work in progress
Items missing story points
Items missing time estimates
Items missing due dates
Items missing fix versions
Items missing worklogs
Items not updated in two weeks
Overdue items
Items on hold
