Product: Rovo MCP / Confluence (updateConfluencePage)
Describe the issue:
Automating updates to a compact Confluence mirror page (~18KB markdown) via the MCP plugin. Local prep validates payload (sentinels present, body_len ~18187). Single updateConfluencePage call with contentFormat: markdown should replace the page body.
Problems observed (via Cursor agent):
Required at body when body missing/truncated in tool invocation- Partial uploads (header only) when body truncated in transit
- Poor ergonomics: full-page replace only — no file indirection; agents struggle to inline 18KB+ reliably in one tool call
Repro:
- Build markdown body ~18KB (rolling task list mirror)
- Call
updateConfluencePage with cloudId, pageId, contentFormat: markdown, versionMessage, full body - From Cursor agent: call often fails or never completes; direct MCP with complete args works inconsistently
Expected: Reliable full-body replace for ~20KB markdown pages; clear max-size docs and errors.
Actual: Fragile enough that we disabled auto-mirror and paste manually.
Request: Document max body size; better errors on truncation; consider granular edits / chunked update for large pages (I saw v2 granular edit preview mentioned in community — does that cover this?).
