AI is moving beyond code generation. It’s starting to influence how software is planned, built, and run.
That shift brings some pretty interesting questions for enterprise teams:
- How do you measure whether AI is actually increasing engineering capacity?
- What happens when AI agents start operating across the development lifecycle?
- How much does context matter when AI is making decisions?
- And when an AI agent contributes to production code, who owns the outcome?
These are some of the questions Atlassian is bringing industry leaders together to explore at State of AI SDLC, a free digital summit on September 22.
The sessions bring together leaders from Atlassian, Vercel, DX, Dropbox, Lovable, 1Password, Honeycomb and others to discuss everything from agentic workflows and context-rich development to engineering ROI, reliability, and accountability.
One session that particularly caught my attention is:
“When Agents Own the Code, Who Owns the Outage?”
Because as AI takes on more of the development work, the conversation has to move beyond “How much faster can we build?” to “How do we build responsibly at scale?”
