Welcome Wednesday: Atlassian-themed drinks!

Dave LIAO

👋 It's time for another Welcome Wednesday, a chance to chime in on the forums! (See past WW posts.)

For this Welcome Wednesday, I ask:

Are you a mixologist, or bartender enthusiast?

What cocktails - or mocktails! - would you make that are Atlassian-themed?

🍸 Bonus points if you've actually made the drink in real life.
🍸🍸 Bonus points if you make the drink, and post a photo here.
🍸🍸🍸 Even more bonus points if you dream up a recipe without the help of AI. 🤖

Looking forward to your answers!

I have some weird, vague recollection of winning an Atlassian-sponsored mixology class, but perhaps I've convoluted that with some other platform I used back in the chaos of 2020!

I'm sooo not creative with my drinks, but love a good coffee drink. I'll go with a Migrate to Cloud Iced Latte...it would have a marshmallow cold foam (cloud) on top of a creamy iced latte.

Alcohol intolerant here - but as a substitute:

Something Blueberry theme'd maybe?

I tend to lean towards coffee - frozen varieties.

Hmm, I will start with brown sugar, add lemon juice, add Sprite or tonic, some vodka, shake it like my nerves are shaking after Migration, add a slice of lemon on top, and drink it with a marshmallow in the shape of the Atlassian logo.

So far as I know myself, we have a high possibility that I drank something like that. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

@Dave LIAO if you will be in Amsterdam we can test some of these things 😈

My journey started growing up with mornings meant waiting for the local milkman to arrive with his cow. While I was busy petting the calf and enjoying that quiet warmth fresh milk, eventually transforming into my lifelong love for rich, authentic filter coffee.

I’m a passionate foodie at heart, always looking for ways to blend comforting traditions with inventive new experiences.

If I were to host a themed drinks, I would name as

Jira Filter Coffee

As its uses board, I'll use a memory board where we can write our experiences.

Ingredients: Strong South Indian filter coffee brew, fresh warm milk, dark rum or bourbon, and a touch of jaggery/brown sugar syrup.

Serve in a classic brass dabara ( a classic vintage copper set/searcg google for dabara) set or a sleek glass mug.

Confluence cocktail

As its known for creative collaboration and documents, I'll keep a small library - fresh and vibrant .

Ingredients: Coconut rum or vodka, fresh pineapple juice, a splash of blue curaçao (for that iconic Atlassian blue), lime juice, and a splash of sparkling coconut water.

Serve over crushed ice in a tall glass, garnished with a toasted coconut rim and a fresh mint sprig.

You really should stop by our office sometime and see what we’re drinking 😅

Here’s one called stakloper, which literally translates to “glass cleaner.” With that Atlassian-blue colour, though, we naturally like to associate it with Jira 😄

I honestly couldn’t tell you what’s in this particular mix, but I’ll have to ask one of our colleagues. I believe she used to work as a bartender, and she knows how to make some pretty cool cocktails!

What we actually branded is a shot called "Jira" — basically gin + rakija, which is the one drink if you want to meet the floor immediately. Definitely a killer combo! 🫠

My turn!

A. I've joked that a good Jira drink would be called a Full Reindex. Its recipe would be similar to a Long Island Ice Tea, and drinking one would make you sit in-place for at least a half hour.

Obviously this was in the day of on-prem Jira, where indexing was a thing.

B. An actual Atlassian-themed drink would probably have a similar recipe to a Windex (horrible name, I know), which has a super vivid blue color. (I haven't had one in years!)

Anne Saunders

I haven't made this, but I didn't use AI and I'm excited to try them!

This would be two NY tall shots.

In the first, a layered "electric screwdriver-ish" concoction of my own devising: orange juice, midori, and blue curaçao in the bottom third of the glass; vodka, blue curaçao, and soda floated on top. (Image is of a "Seahawks Stack" but the colors are about right)

In the second: a Sandy Sheets

Together, they're "Ask Rovo."

"Full Reindex" is a great name, but sounds like a strong laxative brand to me!

Dave LIAO

@Tomislav Tobijas - happy to visit sometime! FYI stakloper sounds like a Windex - which is a rather interesting club drink.

A Jira shot sounds WILD. I love gin shots (heh) AND rakija (to drink), but a combination? That sounds like a collection I can't miss. 😅

Dave LIAO

@Anne Saunders - clever hahaha

Take my kudos! ✨

Matt Doar _Adaptavist_

I want a magic potion called "You Ex" that changes color every few minutes while you are drinking it

Dave LIAO

p.s. I'd try this! Of course, I'd have to make sure I'm not driving later in the evening

Dave LIAO

@Matt Doar _Adaptavist_ - I read this initially as "Your Ex" and was trying to square that circle! 😅

"You Ex" as in UX? Interesting.

I'd love to invent a drink called "Status Button", but the recipe keeps changing and moving around...

Sharon Beck

haha, Amanda, I'm sure you are creative with your drinks. I know I am, just mix whatever you see that you think won't go! Taste - TBD 🤣

Arkadiusz Wroblewski

A full reindex will probably stick in my throat, similar to the feeling I had during the live process in the data center instance 🤣

Dave LIAO

A Rovo espresso martini? Espress-VO?

Dave LIAO

@Sharon Beck - TBD = To Be Drunk? 😅

Anne Saunders

Alternately, just a delicious mocha granita with the logo stenciled on top in a mix of cinnamon, nutmeg, and powdered sugar.

Matthew Sinclair

DO WANT @Anne Saunders
