Execute Commands in Windows

Question

Hello, is there already a solution for running Node or Python commands in PowerShell on Windows?

ROVO keeps saying it can't execute tools like npm or npx because it can't find them. As a result, it's also unable to connect to MPC servers. I haven't found a solution so far. Whether PowerShell is started as administrator or not doesn't make a difference — it still doesn't work.

Without the use of ROVO, the commands run in PowerShell without any issues.

Hey @Chris — thanks for the update and detailed feedback. I couldn’t find a documented fix yet for your exact issue, but I found some community reports suggesting it’s caused by how the Rovo Dev CLI launches child PowerShell processes that don’t inherit the system PATH correctly.

Unfortunately, this does not work properly either. Even if it has the context where exactly NODE or Python is located, it executes it, but the agent does not know when and how the commands are executed, it guesses and goes round in circles. Unfortunately, this cannot be the solution ...

Hi @Jaysef Lo —thanks for the detailed test! This confirms Rovo sees your PATH but can’t resolve node via command. This is a known issue in some Windows setups where child PowerShell processes launched by Rovo CLI don’t inherit environment variables correctly. For now, prompt the agent to use the full path (e.g., C:\Program Files
odejs
ode.exe).
