Error when using gitlab maintainer permission

I use a "maintainer access token", but it seams like it fails to import projects from the UI. The error I get when inspecting the gql requests are: 

> Error while getting repository additional fields

 

Im not sure why. Are you trying to access the [Custom Attributes API](https://docs.gitlab.com/api/custom_attributes/)? There is no documentation and no obvious workaround. I feel like compass is saying: 

> "Please give me all the permissions to your company's source code. I wont tell you what I will do with it, but trust me."

The GitLab integration for Compass is open source, so you can see what the code is doing.

This seems to be the line sending the message that you're seeing, which would only happen if something unexpected happened contacting the API of your Compass installation to check for already imported components, or GitLab itself to check whether there are already open merge requests in case you decided to manage that component using config-as-code.

Without additional information, not sure which one of the two is causing this scenario - it might be something specific to your organization setup. If this situation persists, opening a support ticket may help, as they would have better access to the application logs to determine the exact path that is triggering this message.
