How can I copy a weighted formula result to a linked issue?

I am currently using the premium feature for Connections in JPD. My hierarchy is Initiatives -> Epics. On the Initiative I have a weighted formula (lowest score will get 0, the idea with the highest one will get 100, and all other ideas will get values in between) based on three different fields with type "Rating". I want to have the same calculated score on all of the connected epics and have it automatically updated.

What I have tried:

1) Copying the weighted score into a number field -> not supported?
2) Copying the rating fields -> not supported?
3) Creating logic based off of the calculated score to populate a number field (if weighted 100, then new field = 100) -> not supported?

Any advice or guidance would be awesome!

That is correct. This question may be more suited to the "automation experts" as opposed to JPD. It seems there are limitations in the automation rules regarding weighted scores and ratings fields

OK I think I see what the problem is:

First, you can't use formula fields in automation rules because the value of the field is not stored in the backend - formula fields are just calculated in the frontend today (we plan to change that)
But you are able to use rating fields in automation rules. So if you copy the rating fields values of one idea to another, and you use those for a formula, then the formula value will be the same for both

There is however an issue with rating fields today: they don't appear in the Automation rule editor for edit work item actions for some reason - we're going to look into this.

Having the formula value stored in the backend would be incredibly helpful! We use this to prioritize in JPD and would be great to either copy it or create logic based on it as we pass work to the development team. Right now it is difficult to communicate priority when development tasks are created.
