Sharing Custom Fields across JPD and JIRA

Hey there -- I'm a JIRA newbie, so apologies if this is a stupid question, but I was curious how/if I may be able to link a custom field from JPD to a custom field in JIRA. I want to create a "client" field to organize my ideas lists, that also corresponds to a client field on our dev tickets. Is that simply a "global field?" 

Would love to hear your thoughts! Please and thank you!!

No stupid questions here! You would need to use an automation to map and/or copy fields between JPD ideas and Jira deliveries. It might make sense to use a global field for the use case since it can apply to both projects. 

Take a look at this article on how to map idea's fields to delivery's fields during delivery creation:

If you are trying to map the delivery's fields to the idea's fields when the delivery is updated (after delivery creation), it might look something like this:

^ 4 would be the JPD idea's field, while 4 would be the Jira delivery's field.
