I have also utilized Assets and automation for on and off boarding.I do not have the Azure part setup, as we don't use that.I have a new employee asset created when onboarding request is created with fields required via automation.
Absolutely @Natasja Eloff , you can keep your employee record in Assets and skip the integrations to other directories. Same improvements can be achieved with automations.
