How do get a list of issues that make up a data point?

i.e., in an Issues Created vs. Resolved chart, I want to be able to see exactly which issues make up one of the data points.

Is there a way to bring up the issues either directly in Analytics or in JIRA?

I'm not sure I completely understand, but you might just need to click on the dot and then on 'View in Issue Navigator.' Is that what you were looking for?

That looks like it but I'm not quite seeing the same thing in the Issues Created vs Resolved template chart I'm playing with. I never see the dots on the bars for issues created/resolved and I only see the dots on the total issues created/resolved lines if I am hovering the mouse over the bars...as soon as I move the mouse up to the lines, the dots disappear.

Is there some specific criteria that must be met for the 'View in Issue navigator' link to appear?

It's not a native JIRA gadget. It's some 3rd party app or Analytics. Try 'Created vs. Resolved Chart By Atlassian' JIRA gadget instead.

I'm looking specifically for a solution in Analytics. JIRA gadget won't do. This is a basic audit mechanism so I can double check that charts are pulling/filtering data correctly by spot checking a few data points as I debug.

Hi Chris,

In Analytics, you can add a table chart that shows a list of Jira issues (you can use the "Issue details" chart template, for instance) and then set up a drilldown connection between your "Issues Created vs Resolved" chart and the table chart such that when you click on the bar/line chart, the related issues will then be displayed on the table chart.

This can be done via "Hidden variable" control or a control displayed on the dashboard. Essentially you click on Chart A, it passes values to the controls, and then the controls are used to filter Chart B.

Sorry I didn't respond to this specifically. I feel this is very much a workaround that likely going to end up as another thing that needs to be debugged rather than a flexible and accurate tool for audit/investigation. I want to be able to fully understand what Analytics is presenting in a chart to compare against expectations and creating a 2nd chart or table that is driven by the first chart has a few flaws:

1. The 2nd chart itself may contain bugs.

2. It is something that needs to be set up in advance and possibly multiple times to fully investigate one 'root' chart or table'.

3. End dashboard users can't dig into the data however they please.

Is this just a we-haven't-got-to-that-yet kind of feature or is it more in the category of not-a-roadmap-item-or-priority?
