Call for research participants: Driving change through Compass

Hi all! I am Julen from the Compass product management team. We are currently working on expanding how you drive change through compass and scorecards and your feedback can help directly shape the features/direction we're thinking about.

I plan to share some early mocks/prototypes on features we're thinking about, some details about the Compass roadmap, and answer product questions in return! I want to learn more about how you drive change at individual, team, and organization-wide levels. I'd also love to hear your general Compass product feedback

Hi Julen,

Thank you for reaching out and for the opportunity to provide feedback on Compass. I was initially interested in participating, but I have some serious concerns regarding the platform chosen for gathering participant information.

The site you're using (User Interviews) mandates the submission of an excessive amount of personal information, including:

• Date of Birth (Required)
• Household Income per Year (Required)
• Marital Status (Required)
• Gender (Required)
• Children
• Pets Owned
• Living Situation
• House(s) Owned
• Health Insurance(s)

These details are all required fields, which feels intrusive and unnecessary, especially since this is a business-related interaction. Additionally, the platform does not allow me to enter a work telephone number, which is problematic as I consider this a professional, not personal, matter.

Given Atlassian's focus on software solutions, I’m surprised that an internal tool or a more suitable third-party service wasn't considered for this task. I believe it’s important to carefully evaluate the services you use, especially when asking participants to provide such detailed mandatory personal information.

I hope this feedback is helpful, and I would be happy to reconsider if a more appropriate method for collecting participant information is implemented.
