Getting this error when I try to clone in Sourcetree or gitbash
CONNECT tunnel failed, response 404
I added user again and verified password as well.
what else can I try

Is your repo behind a proxy or are you using a proxy to connect? I would also make sure that the repo is reachable on your machine. 404 means it cannot be found.
