Security features of Confluence Whiteboards

Shawn Doyle - ReleaseTEAM

Are there any upcoming security features for Confluence Whiteboards?

Dr Valeri Colon (Connect Centric)

They recently rolled out Public Whiteboards that has similar security features as Confluence Public Page.

• Permissions Management: You can control who can view, edit, or comment on public whiteboards, similar to how you manage permissions for Confluence pages.
• User Authentication: Whiteboards leverage Confluence's authentication mechanisms, including SSO (Single Sign-On) and 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication), to secure user access.
• Data Encryption: Data within Confluence Whiteboards is encrypted both in transit and at rest, ensuring it remains secure from unauthorized access.
• Audit Logs: Access and changes to public whiteboards are tracked through detailed logs, providing transparency and monitoring capabilities.
• Content Restrictions: Specific restrictions can be applied to public whiteboards to limit access to sensitive information, just like with other Confluence content.
