How to transfer a board from one account to another?

I had access to a premium Trello board at the company where I was employed, now after quitting I need to transfer this board to my private account. I have transferred the board, but then I get the message that I am a guest in this workspace (still connected to the former company).

Questions: What's the best way to transfer boards from one account to another? How do I fully make it "mine" and cut the connection to the former company(account)? 

I was trying to make a copy but couldn't. Perhaps due to that, I need to have a premium subscription for certain features?
