Using an SSH key to sign commits in Sourcetree for Mac

I'm trying to sign a commit in Sourcetree using an SSH key, but it just hangs. Is this a supported use case?

You will need to use GPG - https://support.atlassian.com/sourcetree/kb/setup-gpg-to-sign-commits-within-sourcetree/
