How do I share a board to a client where they can’t edit it and it’s private to my business?

Hi,

I own a wedding venue and have just started my first board. I want to be able to share the board with all of my wedding couples, but I don’t want it to be accessible to the entire world as there are some private things included. 

I also don’t want anyone to be able to edit from the shared link. Is this possible? If so, how? Do I have to upgrade from the free plan?

You would need to upgrade for this as the ability to share a board with someone but only allow them to read the board and not make edits is a Premium feature named Observers. You can learn more about Observers at https://support.atlassian.com/trello/docs/adding-observers-to-boards/
