Board to Board Comment Automation Not Working

Question

Anyone know why this automation won't work? It never makes a comment on the connect board. I literally have another automated that works in the same way, except when the card is archived it just renames the card to {cardname} ARCHIVED and adds a similar comment with the username, time, and date and it works perfectly fine. I manually click the card name for the trigger, so there should be no issue there.

Hey @Ayden Heinig sounds like you're on the right track; basically, if you want the trigger to be "When a card is added to Admin List", you would need the card to have the attachments before it's added to that list. The card is being created directly in the Admin List and obviously doesn't have attachments yet, so no action can be performed. As you mentioned, you could simply combine the two rules:

when a card is added to list "Admin Ticket", add member @{username} to the card, add the dark red "Admin Ticket" label to the card, copy the card to the top of list "Employee Tickets" on board "Baroda Group Administration" and link the cards together, and post comment "This card was generated by {username} at {time} on {date}"

Hey Hannah, now that I think about it, since they are two separate automations, they must be running at the same time and since the card is linked later in the first automation, the second automation has already looked for a card attachment that hasn't posted yet (probably a couple seconds too early) and therefore doesn't run that specific action. I've combined the 2nd automation with the first one, so hopefully now that the comment command is after the card linking, it will detect it.

I am not seeing any errors in the command log pertaining to that command, but I am also not seeing a verification that the comment was submitted like I do for when the card is archived. In the logs where there was an archive trigger, it said, "posted comment..." and where I assume the card generation trigger should have been, just says "The automation finished running" with no specifics.

I have other automations set up so the only steps that would be taken would be:

1. Create card in "Admin Ticket"

2. (Automation Begins): when a card is added to list "Admin Ticket", add member @{username} to the card, add the dark red "Admin Ticket" label to the card, and copy the card to the top of list "Employee Tickets" on board "Baroda Group Administration" and link the cards together

3. (2nd Automation Begins): when a card is added to list "Admin Ticket", for each card linked in the attachments, post comment "This card was generated by {username} at {time} on {date}"

I am now seeing that I can combine these automations, but that is beside the point. I have run out of automations at the moment from running tests, which happened after I was already having issues getting the comment to be ran. And like I said, I was able to get the comment to be made for archiving the card which happened after the card was generated which there was no comment made for. I'll have to wait until the 1st to start testing again, but I appreciate your help.
