Keyboard shortcuts when the input language is not English

When the keyboard language is not set to English, most of the keyboard shortcuts do not work.

We have a non-profit here in Georgia, and I can assure you that there is not any way to use the keyboard shortcuts when the keyboard is put into Georgian.

This (keyboard shortcuts, not I18N) should be an easy one to fix -- grab the keyboard language, remap the shortcut keys. But the only other post I found on this was two years old and still no solution. Do you imagine that all of your users speak English?

As a developer, could I write a power-up to do this?

Hi @Tad, thanks for writing in, and sorry for the inconvenience. I really appreciate the feedback, as it helps us determine what to prioritize. Ensuring that keyboard shortcuts work across all keyboard layouts is something that's on my radar, but it's hard to get a sense for the affected user volume!

Asking to clarify: we've recently rolled out a major set of technical overhauls across Trello which may or may not have impacted your experience. To your knowledge, did keyboard shortcuts previously work on Georgian keyboard layouts up until recently, or have they never worked in Trello?

Can you please let me know if the shortcuts used to work previously?

I'm asking because, as it appears, the issue has resurfaced only recently after our team released the Board experience enhancements features. We've already identified the issue with shortcuts as a bug and the team is looking into it.

While I don't have an ETA on when a fix for the issue will be pushed, we will deploy it as soon as one is available.

@Alina Kurishko @Raymond Wang I do not know if the keyboard shortcuts previously worked because I am new to Trello. I can tell you that the non-alphabetic shortcuts work. But the useful ones, like "q", do not.

I browsed the Trello power-ups pages and the REST API, but it doesn't seem like the hooks are there to grab keyboard input?

@Raymond Wang As for Georgian language user volume, I think you can guess that! But if it somehow works in Icelandic, it ought to work in Georgian, ha ha.
