Is this answer still valid? Now that BitBucket Server has added search capabilities it appears that functionality that was once only available in FishEye is moving out and appearing in BitBucket Server.

Actually FishEye search functionality is not moving anywhere, it remains and will remain in FishEye. Bitbucket Server addressed completely another search algorithms what makes their search possibilities totally different from the experience FishEye is offering. So the answer you mentioned above is still valid, yes.
