Was not able to add user with active account, Trello shows their accounts are deactivated

There are few colleagues I added to my Trello board and it says ther accounts are deactivated. However, they confirm they can use trello and see other baords.

I am not sure what would cause this. 

Have they verified their accounts?

You could try to remove them from the board and ask them to join by sharing a link with them...
