Does anyone have any suggestions for changing to a custom background. I keep clicking the + to add, but its not allowing. I'm a premium subscriber and have been working on Trello for years. Never had this problem.

That's strange - all users should be able to change their board background, subscribed or unsubscribed.
Can you share any errors you're receiving?
