Copied Board vs Trello Template?

I want to share a basic trello board with 15 people (non-team members). They each need to have their own copy, where their updates and input on their board doesn't effect the original or the other copies. It also needs to be as simple as possible for the end user.

Would this best be done by copying my trello board and sharing the board link or creating a trello board template and sharing the template?

If I share a copy, would they need to make a copy of the board themselves to use?

It's my understanding if I share a trello template, they have to make a copy to use, but it seems like Trello walks them through that process.

Let me know the pros and cons for both options!

@Tiffany Baker If I am reading this correctly (please let me know if I am not), you want these people to have access to the "template" board but they will not be workspace members. 

In this case, making it a template will not make much sense as they would only be able to create from template if they are in the workspace or they are members of the "Template" board, which gives them the power to edit it too.

Unless of course, you are happy for it to be a public template, but the issue with that is that technically anyone can access it.

I would suggest making a copy of the board as a master copy.  For the one that you want to distribute, add all 15 people to the board as guests (I am assuming they aren't members of any other boards in this workspace, if they are you will be billed for them).  Then let them copy it to their workspace.  If one of them screws it up, you always have your master to fall back on.
