Upgrading to Premium as a member of a board owned by a free account holder

Question

Hello - I'm trying to find a way to view all my tasks in a list. The board I want to do this on is owned by a client of mine and they're free members. If I upgrade to Premium, will I be able to see my own tasks in a view, even if the board is not premium?! I'm guessing I won't be able to use any other premium features on that board...

Thank you :)

Hey @Karen Maddock - no worries. Thanks for clarifying here.

Looking at your account, you're only a member of one board, which sits in a free workspace. Free workspaces don't have access to the Advanced Checklists feature, which gives you the ability to assign people to checklist items. If you need this board to have the Advanced Checklists feature, you'd need to ask the admin of the board to upgrade the workspace the board sits in to Standard or above.

There is no page to see every card you've been tagged in, but you can use the links I sent previously to be able to see what cards are assigned to you (and also the link which shows what checklist items are assigned to you once your collaborators upgrade to Standard or above).

Thanks for your help so far Alex. I'm sorry i didn't answer your question - I would normally refer to tasks as checklist items, but we are not currently able to assign checklist items. The admin of the board is, but we as members of the board are not. I would love to know how we change that, as it isn't reasonable to expect the admin to assign all the checklist items.

As it stands at the moment, I would like to be able to see everything I'm tagged in - we can't assign checklist items, so we tag people in comments and checklist items. I believe I can only view all cards I'm a member of, but nothing more detailed. Is that correct?

Hey @Karen Maddock - there is no such thing as free members, as subscriptions are applied to workspaces, not accounts. On top of that, there's no concept of ownership when it comes to boards or workspaces, I believe you mean the admin of the board?

In order for me to investigate your query, as I asked before, can you clarify what you mean by 'tasks'? Lots of teams consider different things in Trello to be 'tasks' based on how they use it - does tasks mean cards to you, or checklist items?
