Free card mirroring — Update, please.

There was some discussion of free card mirroring being included within Trello itself, and that this functionality was to be released last year (see here).

Please could you provide an update on when this will in fact be released. My team is struggling to manage multiple projects in Trello, and the ability to 'mirror' cards in projects to a 'Master' board would be a game-changer — increasing the usability of Trello for us by about 1000%!

We have trialled use of the Unity 'Power-up' — which was great — but have since been notified that the functionality we require would cost us just shy of $1,000 per year. For an 'add-on'! In the current climate, we simply cannot justify this cost

Please could you provide an update on your progress on adding card (or board) 'mirroring' as a core part of Trello's feature-set? And perhaps also a rough timeline for the roll-out of this much needed functionality?

Hey @DesignThinking - we have no updates as of yet nor any ETAs. On top of this, if we were to release this feature, it probably wouldn't be for free but would be a part of one of our subscriptions.

When I said 'free', I meant 'built in'. I assumed it would be included in one of your higher tier subscription plans. I hope the 'Premium' plan — which we are on!

Better than paying nearly a grand just for a plug-in.

As I said, this functionality would be a game-changer for us.

After a suggestion on another thread about card mirroring, we did set up Butler automation to try and unite cards from around a dozen project boards into a 'Master' board. As stated previously, we manage multiple projects with teams that range between 8 and 35 persons.

Unfortunately, as was stated in the original post, the Butler automation workaround is somewhat limited.

I just wanted to gently prod Atlassian to see if there was an update on the native card mirroring in Trello first announced in May 2021... Any progress on this? I see you have released a number of recent updates relating to, for example, different 'views' of Trello content (e.g. the new 'Table' view). I'm afraid that, for us at least, these are unneeded bells and whistles that don't address core functionality gaps in Trello.

Over the past month, we have trialled replacing Trello with GoogleSheets — using one master sheet (tab) drawing on multiple projects sheets in the same workbook.

I hate to say it, but this works better for us than Trello — in terms of running weekly review meeting and project management meetings! We are using linked shared folders to store items relating to projects / tasks that would normally be 'attachments' in our Trello setup.

But I must say, as an early, pre-Atlassian adopter of Trello, I find this rather disappointing. I still hold out hope that one day your team will shift focus to key functionality such as native card mirroring. This would be the update that allows use of Trello to really shift gears, in our opinion.

Until then, I'm afraid we're forced — simply for time-saving and project delivery efficiency reasons — to leave Trello and switch to GoogleSheets for daily and weekly project management. But I do hope one day to be back using Trello.

Nearly a year on is there any movement on this function coming to Trello for the premium package? This powerup now seems to be 198$ a month, more than 2300$… completely out of reach for small businesses with multiple projects.
