How to build filter with user names?

Question

I am trying to filter my dashboard data by assignee or reporter name but the only place I am finding user names are in Jira Issue History table To String column for raws where field is assignee.

What is the best practice/way of building such filter? I am quite worried that I will have to filter To String column where Field is assignee and get unique values.

Currently there is not a way to map Atlassian user ids to actual user names because the required user data is not yet available in the Data lake. The process of getting this data into the lake is ongoing and we hope to have that user data in the data lake soon.
