Besides this forum, what levels of support are available for Product Discovery Beta? How is the support different from a non-Beta project? When the Beta ends will the projects be converted to GA or will they be removed?
Hi @Seth Mason and @Nate Dame , great questions!
Is Jira Product Discovery here to stay?Jira Product Discovery Beta is currently part of Point A, where Atlassian incubates new products. We are already seeing great feedback and adoption from early adopters in the private beta and alpha versions of the product and believe we are onto something very valuable for our customers. We are dedicated to continuing to improve the product now and long into the future to create the most valuable and powerful product management tool in the market. As you know from one product manager to another, there’s always a chance we don’t find product market fit. If that happens, however, you won’t lose any data. We will simply convert your JPD project into a kanban or scrum project in Jira Software. What levels of support are available for Jira Product Discovery Beta?Support for Jira Product Discovery Beta is provided by the team building the product, like most Point A products. We do this so we can stay close to customers and continue to iterate fast. We strive to be timely in answering questions and listen intently to feedback to make changes in the product.Once the product moves from beta to GA, the support will be provided by the Atlassian Support organization as per our other Jira products (Jira Software, Jira Service Management). What happens when Jira Product Discovery graduates from beta and becomes generally available - will the projects be converted to GA or will they be removed?Once Jira Product Discovery graduates to GA your projects will work exactly as they did during the beta and you won’t need to do any kind of migration. We will communicate early and often when that change is coming.
I hope this sets your mind at ease, and please let us know if you have any questions.Cheers,Tanguy
+1 for understanding whether Discovery will make it to GA. Is there a risk of Discovery being axed? Or is the intention to move to GA, and goal of beta is refinement?
Context: We are considering killing our Productboard subscription in favor of Discovery.
Found a fairly clear answer here actually:
https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Product-Discovery-articles/Frequently-asked-questions/ba-p/1873127
"Jira Product Discovery will eventually become a paid product"
This could mean the product itself becomes paid, but your existing instances are removed (for say a breaking, non-backwards compatible change).
True! Atlassian better be better than that though or I'll go grab a pitchfork......!
Thanks @Tanguy Crusson
