How to update Alert Message from Azure Monitor Integration

Hi,

I have set up an Azure Integration so that All Monitor Alerts are sent to OpsGenie. How do I change the Alert Message based on the alert?

Currently, all azure alerts say the following "[Azure] in the last mins was activated".

I seem to be able to add extra properties based on the _payload send to OpsGenie but I don't know how you are supposed to change the default fields.

Hi @Andrew Liddle ,

If you are on an Opsgenie plan that offers "Advanced Integrations" (i.e. Opsgenie Standard, or Enterprise plan, or JSM Premium or Enterprise plans), then you can modify the message field of alerts create through the Azure integration...

e.g.

Advanced Option for Integrations:

Advanced view allows you to customize what the Opsgenie alert fields will contain. You can add static text, or drag and drop the fields from Azure to populate the Opsgenie fields:

It sounds like you may be on a plan that doesn't offer "advanced integrations", in which case you are not able to customize what the Opsgenie alerts will be populated with within your integrations.

Were in JSM Standard, is there a reason why this is a premium feature?

Hi @Andrew Liddle ,

The JSM Standard plan just offers the "essential" features of Opsgenie. It doesn't offer the advanced features that allow you to customize your alerts and workflows in Opsgenie.

Being able to customize the "message" field of alerts created from Azure would require access to "Advanced" integrations, which is not available on the JSM Standard plan.

This page outlines the limitations of the Opsgenie essentials plan, which are also the same limitations on the JSM Standard plan.

The JSM Pricing should make this clear, https://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/service-management/pricing it says nothing about this being a premium feature.

Also with the price of JSM Premium being double the price of standard make this very expensive for seems like a standard feature.

For a team of 8 users, this is over $320 a month

Out of interest can you apply an OpsGenie standard license to JSM Stanard?
