please help me understand, I can't find the answer, there is no customer support of phone. Does Trello have an app component that requires install or is it solely web-based?

I do not understand your question very well, but you can access Trello directly from the web, or you can download it on your mobile (both android and Ios), and on your computer you can download it from the store
