Using the greater than/less than comparison of priority

Hello all,

 

I am looking to use the notification policy to control some of my alerting notification. When I use the less than or greater than for priority. Is it based on critical or the numeric value?

For example, I only want to send out notifications for p2's and p1's. Would that be

greater than p3

OR

less than p3

P.S. I don't see a >= or <= operator.

Hi @Wei ,

I suppose the priority is based on both the critical and numerical value - since they are paired; P1 = Critical, P2 = High, etc. Personally I view it more in a numerical sense, but I guess it's all personal preference.

Regardless - P5s are the lowest priority level, while P1s are the highest priority level. To send notifications for P1s or P2s, you'd want one these filters below:

Greater Than P3 = P1 or P2

(Less Than P3 = P4 or P5)

 

At this time, our filters do not have actual >= or <=  options - but I'd say the second filter shared above is the closest thing to configuring a greater than or equal to filter since it acts like an AND/OR.
