Can a change to custom fields on a template board be automated to change on all boards

Question

We have a template board which we use as  base for each employee to manage their clients.   When we have changes to a custom field for example we have to manually do that change across all the boards that use that template.

Is there a way we can alter the selections in a custom field so that it is automatically reflected in all other boards with the same custom field selection (or generated from that same template).  eg drop down box selections

it was mainly removing and then adding a new option. As custom fields combines all options into the new it’s tricky.

Hi Aaron,

When a board is created from a template, the new board is no longer connected to the original board. Therefore, there isn't a way to make this change carry over into the boards that were previously created from the template. This will only work for new boards created from the template.

A workaround for this, is to copy a card from the template board that has the custom field set to each of the new boards. When this card lands on the new board, it'll automatically adjust the dropdown options for the custom field based on what was set on the board that the card came from.
