How can I merge 2 atlassian sites(products) in 1 within 1 organization?

Hi!

Our organization used to have 2 different atlassian clouds, which we successfully merged into 1. Now we have 2 sites that belong to 1 organization.

In 1 site we have our Jira completely setup. In another - Confluence.
Both Jira and Confluence belong to the same project.
I linked them up together, just like shown here:

But when I go to the Jira "Pages" it offers me to start a trial for Confluence.
I suppose this is because they belong to different sites of our organization.

Please let me know whether there's a way to merge them to 1 site(product) or launch "Pages" in some other way.

Hi Elizabeth,

You've hit the nail on the head with this problem, each product is on a separate site... They need to be merged into one site.

To do this, you can migrate Confluence to the Jira site, or vice versa. There's more information on how to do this here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/cloud/import-and-export-data-873871368.html

Before deciding which product you migrate, you should consider which product has the most complex security permissions and which one has more content in it. e.g. do you restrict a lot of spaces and pages in Confluence or do you have a lot of Confluence spaces? Then export the smaller/simpler one, as you're more likely to have fewer complications.

I'd recommend testing the export/import first as well. You can create a free version of Jira and Confluence to test this out, then delete the products after you're done.
