[Solved] G Suite sync & domain verification

Dear reader,

I created an Atlassian account to test both JIRA Cloud and Confluence Cloud with a first email address: ident+atlassian@domain.fr

I then sync G Suite domain.fr with Atlassian. Thus I am able to log in with ident@domain.fr with G Suite identity management but not with ident+atlassian@domain.fr anymore.

Now it seems that the admin (which was associated with ident+atlassian@domain.fr) is lost.

Surprisingly, the domain is no longer verified in spite of the G Suite Sync which is no compliant with the documentation:

Any idea ?

Hi Romain,

Does your account ident+atlassian@domain.fr exist within your G Suite identity management that is connected to your Atlassian?

When you connect G Suite to Atlassian, you also enable SSO with Google. All users under the domain sync'd from G Suite will only be able to log in with SSO. If an account on the domain is not in G Suite, but is in Atlassian, that account will be blocked from logging in.

If you disconnect Atlassian from G Suite, you should be able to login to Atlassian with ident+atlassian@domain.fr using the account password. You can then give ident@domain.fr admin privileges. Alternately, if you add ident+atlassian@domain.fr to you G Suite, you should be able to login via SSO.

Indeed the solution you suggested is the perfect one. I found it by myself yesterday. To give you further information about the problem I faced to yesterday:

I indeed created the first account with the email address ident+atlassian@domain.fr
I then sync my G Suite account. The login ident+atlassian@domain.fr was no longer "available". Indeed all my login attempts directed me to the Google login interface and then expected the login ident@domain.fr
It seems that another organisation has been created, with the same domain, with login ident@domain.fr
Finally I managed to login again with the ident+atlassian@domain.fr login. I then transfered admin rights, technical account,... to the ident@domain.fr account and merge the two organizations
Once connected with the ident@domain.fr again I deleted the account associated with ident+atlassian@domain.fr
I finally sync my G Suite again (cause I the meantime, I stopped the sync via the G Suite Admin Console)
